Welcome to Dreaming Nina!

(Nina, our dog, spends a lot of time snoozing. Ergo, I have lots of drawings of her in her various snooziferous poses.)

I’ve been doing a sketch a day since August 2018. Gathered here are some of them, organized more or less by themes I seem to return to: animals, medieval odds and ends, Japanese prints, trees, copies of paintings I admire, and so on.

Perhaps you already draw regularly; if not, perhaps you’ll be inspired to try yourself. The practice is simple (the perfect is a little more elusive). You don’t need much to start, and messing up is part of the process.

Since 2024 (retirement might have had something to do with this) I’ve gotten into oil painting, and you can find some examples of what I’ve been doing on the Oil Paintings page.
