In the fall of 2024 I finally started painting in oils. I had been intimidated by both the technique and the materials, but after reading about lower-odor solvents and watching some YouTuber painting tutorials, I bit the bullet and bought some paints, brushes, canvas boards, etc.
Most of my paintings are originals, but some are copies of paintings I have admired for years in museums or from photographs. A number of images started their lives for me in my smaller notebooks as watercolors or gouache, but called out to be done in oil.
